KAPYAD Introduces Two Pivotal Reports Shaping the Future of Cappadocia’s Tourism
CAPPADOCIA — The Cappadocia Tourism Investors Association (KAPYAD) has unveiled two comprehensive reports that will help shape the region’s tourism strategy.
Titled “Insights and Recommendations for Sustainable Tourism inCappadocia” and “Recommendations for Increasing Overnight Stays in Cappadocia”, these reports were presented during a high-level meeting attended by regional government officials, parliament members, and local tourism stakeholders.
The event, organized by KAPYAD, brought together Nevşehir Governor Ali Fidan, regional deputies, and the Provincial Council President. The reports include concrete recommendations from civil society to enhance Cappadocia’s tourism vision, strengthen its international brand value, and establish a sustainable tourism ecosystem.
Key topics addressed include zoning and spatial planning, water resource protection, visibility of cultural heritage, balance and quality in tourism investments, accessibility and transportation, ecosystem management, and strategies to increase overnight stays. Each section offers current assessments and actionable policy suggestions.
KAPYAD Chairman Ömer Tosun emphasized that both reports represent a vision to safeguard Cappadocia’s future:
“Cappadocia is one of the world’s most valuable destinations — not only for its fairy chimneys, but also for its millennia-old history, culture, and spiritual heritage. As KAPYAD, in cooperation with our government and all stakeholders, we aim to further develop the region’s tourism vision on the foundation of sustainability. These reports are not merely recommendations — they serve as a roadmap for Cappadocia’s future.”
Moving forward, KAPYAD aims to lead new initiatives that will enhance Cappadocia’s competitiveness in global tourism while preserving its unique identity.
