CAPPADOCIA AREA TOURISM INVESTORS ASSOCIATION (KAPYAD) HELD ITS FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

The Cappadocia Area Tourism Investors Association (KAPYAD) held its inaugural general assembly on May 22, 2023, at the Avanos Double Tree by Hilton hotel.

The assembly drew substantial member participation and addressed several key matters. Beyond conducting elections for the Management Board, Audit Board, and Discipline Board, attendees discussed "the region's priority challenges and proposed solutions" regarding Cappadocia's tourism sector.

Leadership Elections

Management Board Leadership:

• Ömer Tosun (Indigo Group) was elected Board Chairman
• Four individuals were appointed as Vice Chairmen: Ahmet Serdar Körükçü, Ali Yavuz, Halis Uluer, and Murat Çoban
• Six additional board members were selected, including Gamze Toybıyık Kaya as General Secretary and Nazif Demir as Treasurer Member

The board comprises representatives from major regional hospitality and tourism enterprises, including balloon tour operators, cave hotels, and wine producers.

Supporting Bodies: Seven alternate board members were appointed alongside separate Audit and Discipline Board members, establishing a comprehensive governance structure for the newly formed association representing Cappadocia's tourism investment community.
