KAPYAD'S STRATEGIC INITIATIVES WITH THE AREA AUTHORITY AND MINISTRY

Following the impact of the inspection process initiated by the Governorship in February on the sector, the KAPYAD Board of Directors conducted intensive meetings to enhance the effectiveness and applicability of the inspections.

In this context, a Strategic Implementation Report prepared by KAPYAD, containing fire safety, facility standards, and sustainability criteria, was officially presented to the Cappadocia Area Authority and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism by a delegation that included KAPYAD Advisory Board Chairman and former Tourism Minister Bülent Akarcalı.

The main objectives of the report were:

• Establishing fire safety inspections within a preventive and educational framework, not just punitive,
• Developing security solutions appropriate to the architectural features of historic cave and stone structure hotels in Cappadocia,
• Aligning inspection processes with sustainable tourism principles.

The KAPYAD delegation held separate meetings with Nevşehir Governor Ali Fidan and representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, conveying the sector's views and recommendations. In these meetings, a strong consensus was reached on:

• Structuring inspections in Cappadocia to strengthen qualified security infrastructure in tourism investments,
• Basing them on applicable standards that preserve the unique character of the region.
