KAPYAD, FOUNDING MEETING HELD

The Cappadocia Area Tourism Investors Association (KAPYAD) was established by bringing together 35 leading tourism investors, each a pioneer in their field, operating within the Cappadocia Area as defined by Law No. 7174.
With KAPYAD, the leading investors of hotels, balloon companies, restaurants, carpet shops, pottery workshops, and winery companies—the fundamental tourism elements of Cappadocia—came together for the first time and united around a common purpose.
KAPYAD, established under the presidency of Ömer Tosun, Chairman of Indigo Group and Honorary Consul of Brazil, held its first meeting at Uçhisar Museum Hotel. Following the meeting, all members visited Nevşehir Governor Ms. İnci Sezer Becel and Cappadocia Area Director Mr. Birol İnceciköz at their offices for introductory and consultation meetings.
KAPYAD President Ömer Tosun stated that he is pleased to have brought together the pioneering investors of Cappadocia tourism under one roof, saying: "The most fundamental purpose of our association is to strengthen the 'Cappadocia' brand nationally and internationally and to increase its competitiveness. For this purpose, through joint work with all public institutions, especially the Cappadocia Area Directorate, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Turkish Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, as well as local governments, academic institutions, civil society organizations, and research institutions, we aim to add value to the 'Cappadocia' brand, solve the problems of regional tourism investors, increase the number of value-added quality tourism investments, and develop policies for sustainable regional development."
Ömer Tosun also added: "We plan for our association, which we established by bringing together the region's leading tourism professionals, to be very sensitive and effective in the protection, proper promotion, and proper planning of Cappadocia."
Governor Becel stated in her remarks that she was very happy when she first heard the news of the association's establishment, saying: "I was extremely pleased that a very big deficiency of our Cappadocia region has been addressed and that such effective tourism investors have come together to form a very important will. May it be beneficial for our region."
Cappadocia Area Director İnceciköz emphasized that the establishment of KAPYAD is extremely important for Cappadocia, and stressed that the Cappadocia Area Directorate will work with KAPYAD on many issues, especially upper-scale planning studies.
Bülent Akarcalı, former Minister of Tourism and owner of Taşkonaklar Hotel in Uçhisar, who will assume the position of KAPYAD High Advisory Board Chairman, said: "I consider it a debt of gratitude to Ömer Tosun, who succeeded in bringing together extremely valuable tourism investors. With KAPYAD, Cappadocia tourism is filling a very big gap. I am sure that with the support of all our fellow members, we will accomplish very important work."
